The Raleigh Chapter of the American Sewing Guild (ASG) has several Neighborhood Group Meetings in the greater triangle area (Angier, Cary, Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh) as well as Neighborhood Groups in the eastern and southeastern parts of the state. The Raleigh, NC Chapter of the American Sewing Guild has been a chartered chapter of the National ASG organization since 1993. It is the largest chapter in North Carolina with over 150 members and has enjoyed steady growth.
In keeping with the ASG’s mission statement – “Advancing Sewing as an Art and Life Skill” – we sponsor several sewing events throughout the year.

Our Chapter programs are planned by the Chapter Advisory Board (CAB) with as much input as possible from members. Occasionally we conduct surveys to ensure are plans are meeting member interests and we encourage members to submit requests and suggestions to the CAB.
Our Chapter Newsletter “Sew What’s New?” is distributed electronically every other month to all chapter members in addition to being posted on the ASG national website in the Members Only section.

The Raleigh NC Chapter of the ASG is very active in using our talents to give back to the community. Each year we choose at least one project in addition to our national projects. Some neighborhood Groups also choose a charity to support each year.

The Neighborhood Group is the heart of the American Sewing Guild. Groups meet monthly to enjoy sewing programs and sharing of ideas. Meeting topics vary monthly from group to group and often include Community Service activities.
Membership allows you to attend any (or all) Neighborhood Group meetings - not only for our Chapter, but for any Chapter in the United States! Visit the National ASG site - www.asg.org - for a list of chapters in each state. There you'll find links to each Chapter's website and contact information.
